Golfers looking to Sub-District

DAYTON–Bulldog golfers competed at Walla Walla's Veterans Memorial on April 22 and the Sub-District match is a dog leg away. Golfers will compete at Sub-District at Clarkston's Red Wolf Golf Course on Monday, May 6.

Noa Tasker was the top Bulldog golfer at Veterans on April 22 with a 125, two strokes ahead of Carson Potter and 125. Hunter Griffen scored 142 and Sawyer Brenner carded a 64 on nine holes. The match was 18-holes, par 72.

"We were playing short-handed due to illness and other conflicts," commented Coach Mike McGhan. "The guys all played much better than they did last week at Columbia Point.

"Noa continued hitting the ball well and Carson seems to be coming out of the slump he has been in lately," McGhan said. "Hunter scored his first par in his short golfing experience. Sawyer had a good round going until his back started giving him pain."

There will be some 40 golfers from eight schools competing at Sub-District, 28 men and 16 women. Half of the field, plus any ties, will advance to District 7/9 at Sage Hills in Warden on May 13.
