Seniors’ final days
DAYTON–As the school year ends, students are racing to get their schedules for next year, finish up projects, and prepare for graduation.
The Senior class has some significant dates and events. June 4, the Seniors' last day of school; June 5, the Senior trip departs at 8:15 a.m. and returns at 10 p.m.; June 6, graduation practice will be held at 11 a.m. in the Dayton High School (DHS) Gym, and Scholarship Night will be held at 6 p.m in the Columbia County Fairgrounds Pavilion; June 7, graduation practice at 1:15 p.m. in the DHS Gym, graduation pictures, and Middle School (MS) /Elementary walk-through; and June 8, graduation in the DHS gym at 12 p.m. (noon).
Some other important events for the school district to end the year are: June 6, grade 5 Move-up Day; and June 11, grade 8 Move-up Day.
Some upcoming events are headed our way this coming week! Wednesday, May 29, there is a special assembly at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium. It is also Senior Signing Day during Advisory at 9:18 a.m. in the DHS Gym. The Dayton FFA Banquet in the Ag shop at 6 p.m. follows this eventful day. Friday, May 31, the Dayton FFA's Most Involved Member rewards trip to Walla Walla is to go bowling. There will also be an end-of-the-year assembly that afternoon at the DHS Football Field during the 7th period. Saturday, June 1, is the DHS Band Silverwood Trip.
The Dayton Secondary sent off our amazing DHS Track team athletes to state on Thursday, May 23. The individuals competing at state are Luke Winkler, Solomon Brenner, Tristan Rennaker, Hikaru Iwamoto, Adrian Ramirez, and Ike Wolther.
