A bit of breeziness welcomed friends, family and visitors from out of town to Dayton for the 2024 Dayton Days Parade, courtesy of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce. Sheriff Joe Helm guided the Frank E. Bauers Post 42-American Legion Honor Guard down Main Street, leading the first responders from Fire District No. 3 and the rest of the variety of parade entries, horse-back courts, organizations, local businesses and more. Two days of rip roarin' rodeo were enjoyed by throngs.

Local cowboy Kellyo Gallaher got the jump on this ropin' calf, eventually getting the lariat around the calf's neck and making a successful tie down, all part of the recently completed, 2024 rendition of the Dayton Days-Columbia County Fair Association Jackpot Rodeo, held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds.

The Columbia County Fair Hostesses for 2024 were resplendent on this year's float as it proceeded down Dayton's Main Street during the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Dayton Days Parade. From left to right are Hostesses Alyssa Hollingsworth, Kayla Mikesell, Sara Ann Wilson and Cedar Stegall, promoting 2024's edition under the theme: "Buckles, Boots and Rodeo Chutes."
