At The Theater

Garfield

Garfield, voiced by Chris Pratt, the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father–scruffy street cat Vic, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist. Rotten Tomatoes critics gave this movie a 36% favorable rating, but audiences gave it 80%. It is rated PG for action/peril and mild thematic elements. Runtime is 101 minutes.

Several upcoming attractions will soon be at the Liberty Theater in June. On June 15, at 3 pm, a free matinee showing of BACK TO THE FUTURE Part II (1989) as part of All Wheels Weekend. Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and his friend Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown (Christopher Lloyd) travel from 1985 to 2015 to prevent Marty's son from sabotaging the McFly family's future. Back to the Future Part II was a ground-breaking project for the visual effects studio Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). It is lots of fun.

We will begin our free summer movies for children with the movie Journey 2 on both June 18 and 21, at 1 p.m.

Tickets are on sale for the live production of The Odd Couple (female version) at the theater and its website. Performances will be June 21, 22 and 23, directed by Dave Campbell. Starring in this play are locally well-known Elizabeth Arebalos-Jagelski and Deanna Tipton who have combined forces to turn the tables on the ever-popular Neil Simon play and create a highly enjoyable and buoyant comedy rich in rewarding laughter, but touching upon the bonds that create friendships.
