Blustery weather doesn't dampen All Wheels Weekend enthusiasm

DAYTON–The Friday of All Wheels Weekend's 30th Anniversary celebration started out cool and with gusty winds, which died down for the Friday evening festivities–Drag the Gut, registration and live music on the Columbia County Courthouse Lawn, courtesy of The Frog Hollow Band–giving the weekend's activities a wonderful launch.

Saturday morning opened with a freshet to give Show N Shine judges a wax 'n' polish-bead up test (just kidding) so that most of the vintage automobiles and pick ups who were parked first thing had their owners busy with chamois and microfiber cloths, swiping and dabbing as they gave their steeds a last-minute going over so they all looked their best.

"We had such a great All Wheels Weekend!" said Belinda Larsen, Dayton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. "The weather didn't hold back and neither did our drivers! They showed up with right around 300 registered cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, 4X4s, rat rods, street rods, tractors and more."

On Sunday, Larsen said, a record number of people turned out for the Father's Day Breakfast and golf.

Misty Hollibaugh was the lucky winner of the 1967 International Harvester Pickup. "We sold over 2,000 raffle tickets," Larsen said.

"Thanks to all who participated and braved the wind and the rain to enjoy another great Demo Derby," Larsen said.
