Candy Whitehorn

November 13, 1950–June 24, 2024

Candy Whitehorn died peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 73.

Candy D Sumner, born November 13, 1950 in Dayton, Wash., to Earl and Norma Sumner. She attended West Valley Yakima HS and Dayton HS and was planning to attend her 55th Alumni Reunion this summer.

In 1968 she met Wally Hull and later married. They welcomed their son Kelly Eugene Hull into the world in August 1969 and then their daughter Rachel June Hull in April 1972. They would divorce years later. In the summer of 1990, Candy met her future husband, Thomas (Tommy) Whitehorn and they spent their next 28 years making a home in Walla Walla, Wash. Tommy passed in 2018.

Candy was proceeded in death by her parents Earl and Norma, husband Tommy, brother Shane, sister Sandra, son Kelly Hull and nephew Dougie Severn.

Candy loved family and friends. She would go out of her way to make sure that if anyone needed anything, she would find a way or help any way she could. She was fun loving with a quick wit and a huge heart. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Candy is survived by her daughter Rachel Lowe (Ted) Dayton, Wash.; Granddaughters Jordyn Lowe (Harry) and Great grandson Theo in Olalla, Wash., and Morgan Lowe, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Sisters Penny Posey (Clark) and Marsha Strand (Duane) both from Dayton, Wash., and Sister-in-law Margaret Sumner (Shane). She also had many family members, including nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
