Alumni Weekend heats up Dayton

The Dayton High School Class of 1994 reminded everyone of a popular party spot–the Tunnel off McKay-Alto Road as they recalled, along with many others we're sure, many happy times for those heady days of youth. Numerous alumni converged on Dayton for Alumni Weekend and many landmark classes held gatherings to reminisce and catch up. More photos may be found on pages 7 and 10. The parade route was lined with scores of alumni, their families, and friends.

Parade Marshals of the 2024 Alumni Parade last Saturday were Bill and Jackie Savage who were chauffered in style in a convertible Ford Mustang.

The Dayton High Class of 1964 celebrated being "grateful" for still being here over Alumni Weekend with a meal. Dayton High School Class of 1974 marked 50 years since high school graduation with a gathering and reminiscing over Alumni Weekend. They gathered at Joe and Shiela McMillen's for social time and float construction, enjoying a fantastic turnout of classmates to ride in the parade. Saturday afternoon included a barbecue at Mitchell Payne's, where everyone had a wonderful time seeing and reuniting with old friends. Dayton High School Class of 1979 enjoyed a busy Alumni Weekend, gathering at Scott and Joan Hudsons for social time and float decorating, then their post-parade get-together was at Pat and Rhonda Barker's. They relished including Class Advisor Tim Gaffney and his wife Evelyn. Dayton High School Class of 2014 held their ten-year get-together at the Youth Building, gathering Friday evening to decorate their float and then spending time together Saturday visiting and catching up with one another. From left, Lexus (Ward) Richter, Brightne Partlow, Kolbie Rodriguez, Logan Hays and Courtney (Mings) Lambert. Their float included a memorial recognition of classmate Kenndra Jo Honna Haney, who died in a traffic accident in Oregon in May of 2016.
