Ileen Patrick, longtime Dayton resident, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at her home in Dayton. She was 86.
Ileen was born February 24, 1938 in Billings, Montana to Clifford and Guri Ann Iverson Cook. She grew up on a ranch in Eastern Montana and graduated from Winnett High School in 1955. Ileen enjoyed helping her family around the ranch and developed a strong work ethic there.
She attended college in Billings for a couple of years before getting married. Ileen and Wesley Berdar were married and began their family in Eastern Montana. They later moved to Oregon before settling in Dayton in 1965. She enjoyed being a mom and homemaker very much. Ileen and Wesley later divorced and in 1975 she married Robert Patrick of Dayton.
Ileen worked seasonally in the human resources office at Green Giant in Dayton. The family enjoyed many camping trips. She liked playing cards and Bingo, sewing and crafts. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and spending time with them was very important to her. Ileen was a member of the First Christian Church in Dayton and the Eagles Auxiliary. Mr. Patrick died in November 2020.
Ileen was preceded in death by Robert Patrick, and three brothers, Tom, Cliff, and Bill Cook.
She is survived by her two children; Patty Jo Bly in Dayton and Clifford George Berdar in Spokane; two sisters Anita Robinson in Spokane, and Pat Ashburn in Minn., four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren;
A graveside service is planned at the Dayton Cemetery on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. In memory of Ileen, the family suggests memorial gifts to be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice, or to donate blood for someone in need.
