DAYTON–Three vehicles collided near the west City Limits here Monday afternoon, requiring accident victims to be transported by ambulance to Dayton General Hospital. Word on the injured individuals' conditions were unavailable at press time.
Fire and law enforcement units were summoned to 36711 Highway 12 at 2:48 p.m. Monday where two vehicles with collision damage were off the roadway in front of 365 Recreational Cannabis and a third vehicle with front-end damage was stopped on the east-bound shoulder.
A 2016 Kia Soul sustained severe rear-end damage and came to rest on its wheels on the north side of Highway 12, in front of the cannabis retailer. Curtis W. Lysher, 41, 145½ Main Street, Waitsburg, was listed as the driver in a Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report. Passenger in the vehicle was Payten A. Reffalt, 24, also of 145½ Main Street, Waitsburg, and an 11-month old female.
A 2005 Ford Freestar, driven by Ashley F. Trevino, 36, 130 Garden Street, Waitsburg, was damaged enough for air bags to deploy. Trevino was treated by ambulance personnel and transported.
A 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, drive by Eileen M. Peets, 70, of Spokane Valley, Wash., was also involved in the accident.
The incident is under investigation.
