January trial date set in assault case

DAYTON–A trial date previously set for last August has been re-set to January, 2025, following a hearing October 9, heard by Judge Pro Tem Thomas Cox in Columbia County Superior Court.

Michelle R. Shoun of Dayton has pleaded not guilty and faces trial on charges of second-degree assault with deadly weapon, harassment and third-degree malicious mischief in connection with an October 26, 2023, incident in which Shoun allegedly assaulted Danielle M. Kelly, of Dayton.

Shoun’s attorney William McCool of Walla Walla was unavailable for the October 9 pre-trial conference in which January 14-17, 2025, was set for the trial date. Court administrators will work with prosecution and defense to set a hearing on evidence admissibility.
