Accident victim in serious condition

DAYTON–The driver in a Tuesday evening motor vehicle accident, airlifted to St. Joseph Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, has been downgraded from critical to serious condition, according to a nursing supervisor Friday afternoon.

Eighteen-year-old Kaylub Prather, Dayton, was ejected from a 1991 Chevrolet on Patit Road near Lewis Gulch Road at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. Prather was transported by Columbia County Fire District No. 3 ambulance to Dayton General Hospital and flown to the Lewiston hospital where he was listed in critical condition. On Friday, the hospital spokeswoman said, Prather was downgraded to serious condition.

Another accident victim, Nathalie A. Hatfield, 20, Dayton, was airlifted to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. As of Friday, she had been released from the hospital. No condition report was available.

Two minors, age 14 and 15, were transported with minor injuries to Dayton General Hospital, the report indicated.

Driver Prather and a passenger were ejected after the vehicle went off the road, attempted to correct and return to the roadway, and flipped several times, according to the CCSO report.

Due to the four injured individuals, Fire District ambulance personnel requested two helicopters which landed at Dayton General.
