$11m in projects planned by Columbia County Public Works Dept. in 2025

DAYTON–A number of projects are on the drawing board for 2025, according to W. Grant Morgan, Public Works Director/Columbia County Engineer. Grants totaling some $11,202,300 will fund the 2025 Construction Program, Morgan said.

The Starbuck Bridge, currently a structurally deficient bridge with a single lane, will be replaced. Construction will be during 2025-2026 at an estimated cost of $5,840,000, funded through State Rural Arterial Program and Federal Bridge Replacement Grants.

Other projects include:

-South Touchet Bridge Rehabilitation. Repair abutments walls, bearing seats and construct concrete approach slabs. Construction Spring 2025. Cost $482,300. Federal Bridge Replacement Grant.

-Kellogg Hollow Road MP 3.2 to 5.20. Reconstruct roadway to a 28-foot-wide all-weather road, guardrail. Bituminous Surface Treatment, slope flattening, drainage, signing and striping. Construction 2025. Estimated Cost $ 3,060,000. State Rural Arterial Program Grant Funds.

-County Wide Paved Roadway Delineator/Striping. Install delineators and striping. Construction 2025. Estimated Cost $570,000. State Rural Road Safety Grant WSDOT.

-2025 Pavement Preservation Project. Seal Coat and stripe Patit Road and Lower Hogeye Road. Construction 2025. Estimated Cost $1,150,000. Federal STBG Grant Funds.

-Rural Road Safety Plan. Countywide roadway safety plan and analysis. Cost $100,000. Federal Highway Safety Grant Funds.

-Projects Funded Under Development/Design - $12,117,500 Grant Funded, $350,000 County Funds

-Baileysburg Bridge Replacement. Construction 2026. Estimated Cost $6,249,000. Federal Bridge Replacement Grant Funds.

-Eaton Bridge Replacement. Construction 2026. Estimated Cost $2,696,000. Federal Bridge Replacement Grant Funds.

-Kellogg-Hollow Phase 3 – Construction 2026. Estimated Cost $ 3,522,500. State Rural Arterial Program Grant Funds.

-City of Dayton Projects with State and County partnership, $2,440,000 Grant Funded.

-City of Dayton 4th Street. Grind Existing Pavement and pave with new hot mix asphalt pavement. Estimated Cost $2,200,000. Federal redistributed STBG Grant Funds via county.

-City Wide Seal Coat. City/County to partner to Seal Coat priority 1 streets. Cost $240,000. Transportation Improvement Board Grant Funds.
