Lady Bulldog volleyball honored

DAYTON–The 2024 Dayton High School Volleyball Team was honored for their individual and team accomplishments at the Fall Sports Awards here December 18.

Peyton Benavides, Dayton's 5-7 sophomore setter/outside hitter, was chosen by league coaches to the1B Second Team All-Opponent Team. Benavides and Layla Booth, another of Dayton's setter/outside hitters and a sophomore teammate, were named Offensive Players of the Year.

Booth also received a 1B Honorable Mention from league coaches, "Queen of Aces" for being top server, and a Captain pin.

Peyton Dobbs received a number of accolades, including Most Valuable Player, Most Inspirational, and a Captain pin, as well as a 1B Honorable Mention.

Alexa Jones, the Lady Dawgs'5-10 junior middle blocker, received two honors, a 1B Honorable Mention and the Defender Award for making the most blocks.

Senior setter Dakotah Griffen received the Most Improved Player plaque.

Defensive Player of the Year went to Marissa Tupling, the Bulldogs' 5-2 junior setter.

Two players, 5-5 senior setter Brooklyn Laughery and 5-5 sophomore setter/outside hitter Jersey Slack, received the Coach's Award.
